A ring of ice.

My son tipped it out from our dogs water bowl which she never drinks from but is left outside for her all year round.

We couldn't get her away from this ice ring, she was constantly licking it as we would any ice lolly!

Just a dusting of snow for us this morning, but very icy!
Hoping more is on the way but not until after hubby has safely collected middle son from uni tomorrow.

Here come the cows

Just to prove that we do have life to watch as well.

Usually the cattle have been taken off the common by now, but these have been kept on, this year.

It's a pity these photos don't come with sound effects, it is still very wet, so all you here is the squelching as they walk through the floods.

We also enjoyed a visit from a barn owl this week, I am sure 'Barny visits us every day, but we don't see him.
I did try to take some photos to share but it was still too dark even though it was almost 8am.
I have enjoyed many a late summer evening watching Barny at the gate but at this time of year I can only stand and watch for a short while. We had a few specks of snow, more should be on the way, if we get it I will post some more pics tomorrow.

First frosts of this winter

8am this morning.

I was out all day and didn't return home until after dark, so these were the only views I managed to get from my garden Gate today.
